The beginning!

I am so excited to finally start this blog!  I have had ideas and inspiration for it for a couple of years or more and it is super fun to think about it actually happening!  When I was considering my first blog post, I found a page that I had written about two years ago after I had been blessed with 3 beautiful grandbabies in 3 months!    It was so sweet to read it that I thought I would start my blog with it!  So here we go, my first post to celebrate grandparenting!!

September 2013

“For me, this has been the year of the grandbaby.  3 precious souls have come in to my world in just a little over 3 months time.  It has been a whirlwind of emotion: excitement, awe, wonder, fatigue, pure love, pure joy and pure gratitude.  How any one person could be so blessed, I do not know, but I feel like my cup runneth over with all I have been given!  These 3 tiny souls join 4 amazing siblings who have brought a richness to my life that I could not even imagine before I entered this phase of my life.  Truly grandparenthood is a gift from God and a rich reward for bringing into the world and loving our own precious children.  As I remember endless days and even more endless nights of pregnancy, childbirth, nursing, loving, raising and caring for children, I realize I could have never known what some of the most delightful fruits of my labors would be.

These precious little ones that come like angels from heaven to delight, entertain, love, and bless us with their beautiful souls are just simply the proverbial "cherry" on the top of life.  As I snuggle my grandbabies and kiss them, I call them sugar, sugar, sugar.  I’m not sure it’s even possible to describe the sweetness!  But I do know I crave the sugar!

Their presence delights me, grounds me, heals me, thrills me, and inspires me.  The old saying “Just a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down” comes in loud and clear.  I can feel the cells of my body shout for joy when I see one of them running towards me.

It is with an awareness of the precious opportunity that is now mine to love and nurture these tiny angels that I dedicate myself to blogging about all the richness and joy that they bring to life.   And share my journey of being a grandparent, and pray that I will be worthy of the gift that I have been trusted with!

Let's celebrate!”

These three precious ones that I wrote about are all 2 year olds now!   It has been such a sweet opportunity to watch them grow and learn to love life!  We are currently expecting 2 more baby angels to join our family in the next few weeks!  We cannot wait to meet them!!  Hooray!!!
